Here at AirMap, we’re big fans of our growing community of developers and innovators. As such, we’re excited to share that Kittyhawk is the first to integrate AirMap’s real-time traffic alerts.
Kittyhawk now offers a host of new features powered by AirMap’s developer platform, which this summer opened AirMap’s family of APIs and SDKs to innovators throughout the drone industry. Kittyhawk users can receive real-time alerts about nearby manned traffic, share their own flights with other Kittyhawk and AirMap users, and submit digital notices of their flight plans to more than 125 airports.
The new features add sophisticated in-flight capabilities to Kittyhawk’s robust suite of pre- and post-flight tools.
“Kittyhawk already delivers incredible value to drone operators before and after they fly,” said AirMap CEO Ben Marcus. “Now, Kittyhawk makes in-flight situational awareness effortless for their users.”
“As a startup we move super fast, so it’s special when you find a partner that moves even faster to develop new tools and push updates,” said Kittyhawk CEO Jonathan Hegranes of working with the AirMap platform. “We have only tapped into a fraction of the AirMap’s SDK potential, and the impact it’s had on Kittyhawk pilots is immense.”
More than 150 developers and innovators have signed up for access to AirMap’s developer platform since its August launch. The AirMap platform puts sophisticated data and services into the hands of both aspiring start-ups and experienced developers, accelerating innovation for the entire drone ecosystem. AirMap gives developers the tools they need unleash their creativity and invent new solutions for the growing drone economy – solutions just like Kittyhawk.
