AirMap Welcomes Andreas Lamprecht and Sebastian Babiarz in Berlin

We’re excited to announce the addition of two new leaders to the AirMap team: Andreas Lamprecht and Sebastian Babiarz.

Andreas Lamprecht – known to the rest of the AirCrew as Andi – is AirMap’s Deputy CTO & Head of Technical Partnerships. In these roles, Andi shapes the technology vision for the AirMap platform and collaborates with AirMap’s partners to develop solutions that allow the drone industry to safely and efficiently take flight. Andi is also the Managing Director of AirMap Deutschland GmbH, guiding efforts to enhance AirMap’s offerings and partnerships throughout Europe.

Andi joins AirMap after nine years as a leader in autonomous vehicles and next-generation mapping at Audi, where he shaped Audi’s vision for connected, autonomous vehicles and defined the technology strategy that led to the acquisition of mapping company HERE from Nokia by Audi, BMW, and Daimler. Andi holds a PhD in Automotive Engineering from TU Chemnitz.

AirMap also welcomes Sebastian Babiarz to the team, as AirMap Deutschland’s Head of Strategic Business Development. In his new role, Sebastian will identify and evaluate new business opportunities throughout Europe, and continue to advise and collaborate with regulators and standards organizations as they work to build frameworks for Unmanned Traffic Management, or UTM, in the region.

With more than 12 years of experience in the tech and telecom industries, Sebastian is one of the driving forces behind the global development of UTM. Before joining AirMap, Sebastian was one of the key leaders behind Nokia’s UAS and UTM strategies, and one of the first board members of the Global UTM Association, where he remains a dedicated member today. Sebastian has held various positions in research and development for Nokia, Ericsson, and the Alcatel-Lucent mobile networks division.

“I’m honored to welcome both Andi and Sebastian to the team in Berlin,” said AirMap CTO Daniel Rubio. “These two innovators’ experience and ingenuity will be invaluable as we expand the reach and capabilities of the AirMap platform, and build a safe, thriving future for the entire drone ecosystem.”

Welcome to the AirCrew, Andi and Sebastian!
