Leadership

Ben Marcus

CEO and Co-Founder

Ben Marcus is an aviation expert and executive. Prior to AirMap, he co-founded and was CEO of jetAVIVA, the world’s largest light business jet sales company. He started his career as a flight instructor and later became a flight test engineer. Ben currently serves on the board of Angel Flight West. He is an FAA-certified Airline Transport Pilot and Flight Instructor with over 4,500 hours of flight experience and ratings in airplanes, helicopters, seaplanes, gliders, and six types of jets.

Gregory McNeal

EVP and Co-Founder

Gregory McNeal is an expert in unmanned aircraft and topics related to security and technology. He is a professor at Pepperdine University and a frequent keynote speaker about technology, law and policy. Gregory has also served on the FAA’s Micro UAS Aviation Rulemaking Committee, UAS Registration Task Force, and is a member of the Secret Service Electronic Crimes Task Force.

Daniel Rubio

Chief Technology Officer

Daniel Rubio is a leader, technologist, and engineer with more than 20 years of experience in mapping, IoT, radio frequency engineering, robotics, mobile devices, and autonomous cars. Prior to joining AirMap, he served as the CTO of HERE and as the CTO and Chief Architect at the Symbian Foundation. Daniel also served in leading positions at Nokia where he led the development of the Motorola Droid and brought Android to Nokia with his work on the Nokia X.

Jared Ablon

Chief Information Security Officer

Jared Ablon is an expert in offensive and defensive security with more than 13 years of experience. Prior to AirMap, he worked at the U.S. Department of Defense and MITRE Corporation where he developed security solutions for GPS navigation systems for multiple U.S. Air Force programs. He also founded Passrock, a commercial fraud prevention solution for businesses to mitigate the risk of stolen users accounts.

Richard Deakin

Chairman, AirMap EMEA

Richard Deakin is an expert in air traffic management deployment solutions with over 30 years of experience in the aerospace and defense sector. Prior to joining AirMap, Richard was the CEO of NATS, the leading air navigation service provider in the UK. Richard has also served as a consultant in private equity, high-tech, and aerospace.

Pasha Saleh

VP of Business Development & Strategic Partnerships

Pasha Saleh is a pilot and aerospace industries expert with over 25 years of experience. Prior to AirMap, Pasha was a senior strategist at the Boeing Company, director of sales at Hawker Beechcraft Corporation, consultant at McKinsey & Company, and captain at Continental Express Airlines. He holds an Airline Transport Pilot certificate with 7,000 hours of flight experience.

Bilal Zuberi

Board Member

Bilal Zuberi is a lead investor and partner at Lux Capital. He has spent the last 10 years helping advise early-stage technology companies. Bilal is also an entrepreneur and co-founded GEO2 Technologies, an advanced materials technology company.

Hemant Taneja

Board Member

Hemant Taneja is the managing director of General Catalyst Partners. He has served on boards for over 20 different companies and brands in Silicon Valley and believes that technology and policies need to converge to foster responsible innovation.

Bill Ayer

Board Member

Bill Ayer is the former Chairman and CEO of Alaska Airlines and Alaska Air Group. He is a commercial pilot and flight instructor with over 4,500 logged flying hours. He serves on the University of Washington Board of Regents and is the director of Puget Energy, the Museum of Flight, and Angel Flight America.
